USD 851 024 and one more enterprise. Within
the state program “Unified Agro-Project” enterprise for production of
freeze-dried fruits “Gemuani” was opened in village Zeda Etseri of Zugdidi
municipality by Prime Minister of
GEORGIA George Kvirikashvili, Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili and Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo-Svaneti Levan
Shonia. The company employs 30 people and produces 22 tons of various freeze-dried
fruits a year. Realization of products will be carried out as on local as well
on export markets.
Products are supplied by farmers from
more than 120 small and medium enterprises. The company is the
beneficiary of the program "processing of agricultural products and
co-financing of production for storage" within the Unified Agro-Project”.
Aggregate investment to enterprise amounts to USD 851 024, from which USD
250 000 is the grant money and USD 484 512– Preferential agro credit.
The company is going to receive
an international certificate of quality ISO:22000 with support of
(APMA) and USAID/REAP To date, with the
support of the state program in the region of Samegrelo, 20 new enterprises
have been opened and 36 existing enterprises have expanded and total volume
investment of which amounts to USD 25 million.
